Google Adsense Can Significantly Add to Your Bottom Line
Google Adsense can help move your new website from the red to the black. Focus, as I continue to say, on creating quality content and Google will drive traffic to your site. It is a process. It is not something that will take you from broke to stoked in 30 days, but it will make you money and that income can be long term.
Making money from your website isn’t that complicated It’s just a matter of using some proven strategies consistently. Google Adsense is one of those strategies.
Effective Ways to Attract Advertisers to Your Website
Selling advertising on your site to third parties still happens to work extremely well if you get it right. Google Adsense is just one of the easier ways to start. Technically, Google isn’t buying advertising. Folks following your Adsense links is what makes you bank. Think of it more as selling on consignment.
Yet many website owners don’t know how to locate people who are willing to place ads on their sites. Here are some ways to do it.
Search for Related Services
The blog’s niche is not that important at this point. If you do a Google search, you will find related products that are selling. You can directly get in touch with the product owners. Advise them of your advertising opportunity. If your website is getting a lot of traffic, you will see that these product owners will want to do business with you. Any business that sells product in your niche will love the chance to promote products on your website. This will be a good thing for everyone in the deal.
Contact AdSense Advertisers : Looking for potential advertisers will prove to be difficult if you just stick to the tried and tested. Think of something different that has not been tried before. Doing business with other AdSense advertisers in your niche is one thing that is not being practiced as much. Basically you should try and check out these companies that are running AdSense ads and get in touch with them. Don’t make your email look like spam.
Make it personable.
Tell them that you saw their add on another website and that your site would be a good place for them to advertise. Providing too much information in the email is not a good move, especially if it has to do with the price. Do not mention the cost. Make your communication very clear.
Convince these businesses that your proposal has something in it that will be very beneficial for them.
Adsense Is Not the Only Game In Town
Use Ad Networks: What if you knew where to find companies that were considering advertising in the right online opportunities. That would be half the battle wouldn’t it?
That’s exactly what the ad networks can help you do. They know how to match advertisers and publishers together. Different advertisers can be matched with different ad networks. You can do the research on this. Determine which ones are suitable for you. When dealing with ad networks, learn to be patient. Do not just pick out the first thing that comes to your eye. You are entitled to good advertisers, so do not hurry through this step.
You need to create the right level of balance when finding advertisers. Stay away from ads that are not relevant to your niche. Your whole goal should be to locate good advertisers that want to put ads on your website.
Now, we have talked a lot about affiliate marketing in other posts. That is a well and good. We have talked about network marketing, too.
As I see it, we are serving:
- Affiliate Marketers
- eCommerce sites
But what about the myriad things you use every month that is not a direct part of your business?
Quid Pro Quo
Quid pro quo means a favor or advantage granted or expected in return for something.
Take an inventory of all the businesses you conduct commerce with every month. There are probably a fair size number of them. Go through the list you create looking for the ones who use affiliates to help build their customer base.
You should then:
- Contact the company and get your own affiliate link or links.
- Write a post about the product, service or company.
- Create a page about the product or service with your affiliate links embedded in it.
I Like It!
Another approach I am working on is a page of likes. No, not like Facebook, although I would greatly appreciate your going there and liking my fan page. What I had in mind was a helpful page of links to companies with which I do business and in whom I have enough confidence that I can recommend them to my customers.
Basically, if I use it and have found it to be a particularly good product then I am going to recommend it.
You can see that page by going here.
You know, on the subject of giving back, the phrase ‘giving back’ has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. There are several other buzz words, also designed to create an emotional response in the reader and motivate them to action, that I find just irritating. I suppose it is because every jack leg supposed philanthropist who claims to be helping often under closer scrutiny are really very mercenary in their actions. It could also be because any time a politician talks about how ‘we’ need to ‘give back’ what he really means is, “Buckle up, cupcake, you are going to pay more taxes.”
In any case, in addition to links to products and services I use there is also a list of causes and charities I invite people to consider rendering aid to.
Google Adsense is a tried and proven strategy for adding to your bottom line. Therefore, it only makes sense to get involved.
Selling space on your site is another way to add to your income stream.
Another way is to make sure that you understand all the revenue streams leaving your household. To the extent possible, make sure you are taking advantage of any opportunities to use those streams for promotion of your business. Because you are in the business of making a profit you are going to want to take advantage of any affiliate opportunities that exist.
