MLM Leads: Online Generation Is Necessary

MLM Leads

MLM leads generation is job one for the budding or beginning MLM’er or network marketing person.

First of all, I am surprised some companies will forbid their distributors to use the Internet to market their product line or to build a team. Furthermore, I question their commitment to their distributors success. Why do I say such a hard thing? I am a nice guy, after all.

Having A Company Means Having An Internet Presence

Because this is the 21st century, having a company means having an Internet presence.

Oh, sure, they may give them a sign up page or an online catalog.

Guess how much traffic Google refers to them.

  • Zero.
  • Zilch.
  • Bupkis.
  • Nada.

Unsolicited opinion here: No matter how good your product line may be, no matter how good your line of services offered you have to have leads, period.

Since the share with your ‘friends and family’ plan results in such a high failure rate, it seems to me that taking advantage of the Internet would be as natural as breathing. Therefore, anyone standing in your way of using that resource needs to be re-evaluated as to what they bring to the table in terms of you building your business.

Your company wanting to prevent you from using the Internet means you should sit down and consider just how devoted you are to it.  Most of all, your should think about the company’s level of devotion to your success.

The company’s business plan is built on less than 1% of their distributors succeeding while 16% or 17% of those failed distributors hanging on as customers since the product itself is generally.

There are tons of businesses out there who encourage the use of the World Wide Web.

Why?

Channels For Generating MLM Leads Online

Marketing Channels

This is hardly an exhaustive list.

Being Online Solves Problems

It solves the problems folks hate most about multi-level or network marketing. When you market online rather than trying to arm bar a family member into a sale it is lot less stressful.

Due to your using the Internet to generate MLM leads, folks who you look for, your target market, will start finding you. As a result, you will no longer have to:

  1. Have home parties.
  2. Engage in cold calling.
  3. Keep inventory.

MLM lead generation is just more fun when done online.

MLM Lead Generation

Paid for leads or using the awesome amount of free MLM leads sources, that is the question. The simplest answer is I suppose, “It depends on your budget.’

You can do both, of course. If your budget allows it, I very much recommend you do some paid advertising.

Don’t despair if your current budget cannot carry advertising costs. Here’s why.

In network marketing leads lists are one of the very first things new folks get excited about.

“Wow, a million names for $49.95! If I only get 1% response I am retired!”

-Newbie who 2 years later has yet to receive an override check in the double digits…from someone else’s purchases who is not related to him.

Cheap MLM Leads Are Worthless

So, what to do?

  1. Save your money.
  2. Fill up your gas tank.
  3. While there, grab your favorite beverage in case you get thirsty.
  4. Go cruise through the neighborhoods in which you dream about living.
  5. Visit a car dealership. Have you seen the latest Corvette? Chevrolet is really back on track with that one.

Because you did the above, or something like it, you will be inspired. As a result, you will find yourself spurred on to doing something truly productive, like doing a little keyword research and writing a post on your blog that actually solves someone’s problem.

Okay. Done with the ride? All refreshed? Great.

Solving folks’ problems or helping to inspire them to keep going in what may seem to them to be hopeless circumstances is how you generate MLM leads. Daily.

Yes, that is an oversimplification.

In conclusion, I am saying, “Don’t throw money down a hole.”

While there is that old saying, “It takes money to make money,” it is a bit misleading. It takes SMART money to make money and your using your time and money to generate your own MLM leads is you being smart.

Consequently, the leads you generate from creating useful valuable content that solves problems for you readers, you will be generating free, targeted leads of folks who have developed a level of trust in you that will lead them to buying from you goods and services that solve their problems or fills their needs.

Best Regards,

mlm leads

Ways To Make Money Online

Ways to Make Money Online

Ways to make money online is a subject of interest to students, home makers, the unemployed, underemployed and folks whose budget does not meet the outgo obligations. If you are looking for ways to make money online you are either not making enough money, you hate what you are doing or you have obligations at home driving you to find a way to make money online.

It is my suspicion that folks looking for ways to make money online probably have a very large cross over with the folks looking for ways to make money from home.

50 Shades of Green

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Here is an article outlining “40 easy ways to make money quickly“. Some are pretty sad because they basically want you to hold a yard sale or sell your old CDs.

A short list would include:

  1. Affiliate marketing
  2. Auctioning off or selling through your own website products you buy at wholesale.
  3. Network marketing. The friends and family thing sucks, even when it works. You are looking for a larger audience.
  4. Reviewing web sites if you have that skill set.
  5. Offering your Microsoft Office skills to folks who want to outsource from time to time.
  6. Taking surveys.
  7. Online market trading
  8. Write and publish your own Kindle book.
  9. Clickwork
  10. Being a mystery shopper.

Short Breakdown of These Methods.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing rocks. Folks make solid 6 figure incomes and better from this field. Basically, you get a link from a company that links you to their product line. When someone clicks on your link and buys, you make a commission. Here is a more in-depth article on the subject.

Also, you see on the right a subject list of which affiliate marketing is one.

Auctioning

Things you no longer want, which is a short term solution, can be auctioned off online. Folks do that through their own website or through auction sites like eBay. Doing this can lead to significant incomes, too. You will need to source products so you have stuff to sell. Amazon also has a partner program you can link to.

No residual income streams are available through this method, buf if you enjoy selling ‘stuff’ this is certainly the way to go. You will want to source products from drop shippers at some point, of course.

Network Marketing

The Internet is a heaven sent solution for the network marketing professional. It relieves you of the necessity to call on friends and family. It also eliminates your lying in wait in bookstores and public hoping to run into someone who is looking for a business opportunity.

When looking for ways to make money online do not give network marketing short shrift. Yes, it is true that 98% of the folks who enter into it fail, mostly within 90 days but that is because your plan to sell and make the next level as a distributor has little to nothing to do with the business plan of the company in question.

Pay attention here: The business plan of the company takes into account that 98%+ of new distributors will fail.

Their business plan cannot be your business plan.

The short version is any company offering their stuff through a network marketing concern knows that:

  • 98% of distributors fail
  • 16% will stay on as lifetime customers.

That 16% is the holy grail for the company.

The Internet gives you the opportunity to market like a professional, making your chances for success greater in my opinion. You can read more about network marketing here.

Reviewing Websites

Folks will tell you this is easy to do, just sign up for our course and you will be on your way to…blah, blah, blah.

You can make money doing this, for sure. The skillset is more rarified than you think and if you have doubts about your ability to do this, you should save your money, seems to me.

Offering your Microsoft Office skills

If you have mad, or maybe not so mad, Office skills, you can make money online. Sites such as eLance prove it everyday.

Often times a company has certain short term projects they want done in a hurry but don’t have the in house skills to do it the way they want it done. This is where you, the Office professional, can make a good sized buck. You save them from the need to hire you and provide benefits and they pay you a higher wage than they could an employee.

This can and often does lead to repeat work from satisfied clients and even long term running contracts that provide some stability to your income.

Taking Surveys

Purely a spare cash kind of thing. There are courses out there claiming you can make a living income from just doing surveys. I very much doubt it but filling out surveys can definitely help reduce the strain of a bill or two. I know because I have done it in the past.

Don’t waste your time on a course on taking surveys. I have a link to one if you really want it, but my opinion is just start looking for companies that claim to want to pay you for taking their surveys and who will let you sign up for free. It can take some time but if you stick at it you will see significant monies coming in before long.

I am going to include mystery shopping here with surveys because:

  1. The potential income is limited
  2. While limited it can help reduce a bill or two
  3. I have done it and gotten a little money from time to time
  4. Sometimes you get rewarded with neat free stuff.

Mystery shopping can be fun as it gets you out of the house, maybe earns you a little money and can reward you with neat free stuff from time to time.

Online Market Trading

Day trading and Forex. Highly technical areas and I suspect most of the money is earned selling these courses to folks who really don’t have the pockets to stand the risks involved. That is an entirely personal opinion and worth what you paid for it.

Write and publish your own Kindle book.

Like with Office skills, if you have some special talent, insight into something lots of folks worry about or can tell a good yarn you might want to turn it into a Kindle book so folks can benefit from it while you benefit from their paying for it.

Amazon has a program just for electronic media authors as do some other companies. A word of warning, though. Make sure you understand who holds the copyright and publishing privileges. You might not want to worry so much about a collection of rice recipes but if you are trying to market your novel, your opus, better safe than sorry.

I have written two novels of a trilogy and am in the process of finding someone to do a line edit before I try to publish it. Electronic publishing was looked at but the fine print was so fine I could not be sure I was still the owner of the book if I were to sign on.

If you don’t see a breakdown of the method above it is because I don’t think it is worth breaking down

From here on, we will make the assumption that you are here looking for ways to make money online with methods that have the following characteristics.

  • You want to make next month at least what you made this month.
  • You would like to not have to re-invent the wheel every month, so residual income is a plus.
  • A real income, at least equal to a good job’s pay, is your goal.
  • You are not looking for beer money, but real income.

In Conclusion

Finding ways to make monley online is easy. Do a search on the phrase and you will get inundated with ways.

Mention it on a discussion board and you will find your email slammed to the point of never being able to read it all.

For me, there are really only fours ways to make money online:

  1. Affiliate marketing
  2. Marketing your own products and services
  3. Finally saying yes to some of your friends who are in network marketing and then taking it to the Internet.
  4. Creating your own retail website for products you buy wholesale or have a drop shipper who does your fulfillment.

If you are going to invest in building an online business or are looking to maximize your chances for success, you will need training. This is the training I use and it works.

Network Marketing Tips That Are Tried and True

Network Marketing Tips

Network marketing tips is one of those subjects that gets trotted out when you have a conversation with someone who asks you what, exactly, it is you are doing to build your business. It can be MLM, or networking if you prefer, affiliate marketing or actual physical products.

Today we will stick with network marketing tips.

Today I will cover 10 network marketing tips, in no particular order.

  1. Visualization
  2. Look for ways to serve.
  3. Respect and value your job.
  4. Be loyal to yourself and your product line.
  5. You need customers, too.
  6. Focus. Pick one method, a single channel, to master.
  7. Respect other people’s businesses.
  8. Work everyday.
  9. Always tell the truth.
  10. Providing pain relief is your purpose.

Tip #1 Visualization

Lots of folks resist this and I do not know why. You would think it the easiest thing in the world to do, but it is not. While I don’t know the reason for the resistance to this, I do know of a story that is perhaps applicable in understanding the human critter.

Moses had just led the Israelites out of Egypt and was moving them on towards the Promised Land. Now, during this journey the Israelites got up to no good from time to time and there were various trials sent amongst them to remind them to get back on the correct path.

One of those trials was a plague of fiery serpents.

Now, I am not exactly sure what a fiery serpent is, but I do know from the story they were venomous.

Moses prayed to Jehovah to deliver the people from the serpents and was told to fashion a bronze serpent and raise it up for a standard to the people. All the people had to do was look upon the brass serpent and they would be healed.

Do you know that a lot of people died simply because they were too hardheaded to look up at that brass serpent?

Learn to Visualize

If you cannot see where you are going, you will not arrive. This is true on the highway and is true on the highway of life. This goes under the heading of definite purpose in life. You have to have definite, specific goals and you need to see them as realized goals while writing them down.

Goal setting means you are visualizing as you decide. Visualization and goal setting go hand in hand.

Tip # 2 Look for Ways to Serve.

Network marketing tips are sometimes disappointed in their simplicity. Often when folks ask for tips what they really want is for someone to tell the ‘secret’ to sudden success because they want to be able to quit the job that they hate so much.

…on Monday morning.

You could be in one of several places in your career as a networker:

  •  A fresh, dewey eyed newbie.
  •  Successful professional networking professional with a growing team.
  • Once again about to burn out and take some number x sabbatical from networking

Get your mind off of yourself for a bit. Consider what important lessons you have learned on the way to where you are. Think about how those lessons can be of benefit to others. Find ways for them to take advantage of lessons you had to learn the hard way.

Come up with a Top 10 or even just a Top 5 ‘List of Things I Wish I Had Known When I Started.’

There is your next blog post or your next ice breaker if you do the prospecting thing in person.

Point is, look for ways to help others with their business whether they are in your team or not. Taking the time to help others is a sure fire way to expand your own knowledge, too. It will probably expand your subscriber base.

This is the essence of Attraction Marketing.

Tip #3 You Need to Respect and Value Your Job

In the preceding I am speaking about those in search of the key to their ‘freedom.’

Why in so much of a hurry? You were glad to find that job when you did. I suspect it not an over exaggeration to say you got home from your first day of work with quite a spring in your step.

What would you do if you woke up in the morning and did not have that job you so despise?

network marketing tipsInstead of dragging yourself to work Monday you are going to go in cheerful, full of energy and glad to be there.

That job pays your bills and funds your campaign to be free.

You will not be able to get free unless you get up and get to work.

In Napoleon Hill’s original work, ‘The Law of Success In Sixteen Lessons,’ Lesson 8 is called ‘The Habit of Doing More Than Paid For.’ That habit gives you the ability to take advantage of the Law of Increasing Returns.

The quantity and quality of the extra service you render will come back to you greatly multiplied. Consider the farmer who plants a crop of wheat. If he harvested only one grain of wheat for each grain he planted, he’d be wasting his time. Instead, every successful grain produces a stalk or a sheaf containing many more grains. Of course, a few don’t sprout, but whatever problems a farmer may face, getting back many times more wheat grains that he or she planted isn’t one of them.

-Napoleon Hill

So,

  1. Do your job
  2. Respect your job
  3. Be grateful for your job
  4. Do more than you are asked to do so The Law of Increasing Returns can start working for you.

Tip #4 Be Loyal To Yourself and Your Product Line

It should not have to be said, but, as with most important lessons in life humans are slow to get with the program.

Don’t you be one of them.

Whatever your product line is, you need to be loyal to it.

You don’t see a Ford dealership owner driving a Corvette, do you? No, sir. It will be a Mustang or nothing.

Your own products and services should be your first go to point when trying to solve a problem. It is easier to sell what you yourself use.

Tip # 5 You Need Customers, too

Too many distributors neglect to build a customer base.

They are so busy trying to get to the end of the line they forget that moving products and services is what generates profits. You can sign up a thousand distributors in Sally’s Just Super Soap Suds opportunity.

It won’t matter if no one is buying any soap.

Tip # 6 Focus

Of all the network marketing tips that I have collected over time on stands out.

Network marketing tip extraordinaire: Pick one channel to start.

My Lead System Pro is a training company for networking professionals of all levels. The very first thing they tell you is to pick one marketing method and master it.

Pick one.

What do folks do? They see all those marketing channels and resources and they immediately create IDs across 20 or 30 social media platforms and try to build a following on each.

Monday morning is only 4 days away, see?

Tip #7 Respect Other People’s Business

Don’t be a thief. Trying to build your business by scavenging distributors from others’ businesses is just not gentlemanly.

If you think living by the law of the jungle is the way to go, you don’t understand this business and will soon fall prey to your own tactics.

Tip # 8 Work Everyday

Earlier on one of the network marketing tips I gave you was to respect your job.

If you want to succeed in your business, and you do, you surely do, then everyday you give your business the same respect your give your job.

You:

  • Work every day.
  • I try to make myself work 40 hours a week on my business. Not always possible as I still have a job. The more hours you put in, the faster you can reclaim the 40 you are now giving to someone else.
  • Do two marketing activities, everyday.
  • Interact with folks online, everyday.

Tip # 9 Always tell the truth.

It may cost you in the short term. So what? You gain nothing from being less than 100% truthful.

  1. Exaggeration helps no one.
  2. Our business has a track record that makes it unnecessary.
  3. If you always tell the truth you don’t have to remember who you told what.

Tip # 10 Provide Pain Relief To Your Readers

With all the uproar in society lately, you hear a lot of talk about speaking truth to power.

Speaking to people’s pain is how you begin to build a relationship.

Showing them the pain reliever is how you prove to them you are interested in their business, their success.

This makes people buy.

Because learning to speak to people’s pain gives you power in this business. As a result, your list will grow. Folks will come to you, seeking you out for answers and aid.

If people are not succeeding, it is because of lack of industry and work or a lack of education and experience. Both of these sets of problems are solvable.

Providing content that provides actionable information that can help your readers in their lives, their businesses or both to prosper and move ahead you are building a relationship with that person.

Finally, when they buy, from whom do you think they will seek advice and spend money with?

Hope these network marketing tips helped. I would be most interested to hear how they have helped you.

Best Regards,

network marketing tips

Top Network Marketing Companies

Top Network Marketing Companies

How Do You Find them?

Top network marketing companies like to tout the fact that they are considered one of the top companies in their field. It is what they call a ‘selling point.’

While I agree that it is surely something to consider, it is a fact that cannot sit alone dictating your choices. For instance, if you are a big, burly athletic man’s man I doubt you would be overly enthused about representing Mary Kay cosmetics or throwing a makeover party for 10 or 12 of your game day buddies.

Well, odds are anyways…

Also, if you are admittedly a girly girl, dainty in every way I doubt you would be overly fired up about representing Amsoil’s fine line of long lived motor oils to your garden club.

Obviously, I am making generalizations that may not apply to a specific person. My point is you will want to seek out a company that represents a product line about which you can get, and stay, excited. That excitement will carry over into your ability to both create customers and find folks who are interested in being in business with you.

How To Choose Amongst the Top Network Marketing Companies

‘How to choose’ is probably overly ambitious as a description for what I am going to do for you. The reason I say that is I want for you to always be able to say to yourself that Tim gave it to me straight.

Frankly, that is more important to me than whether you ever buy anything from me or not.

Network marketing as a business is very well able to stand on its own two feet. It is a proven business that has created a lot of millionaires and educated a lot of kids all the way through college. Having said that, there are a few folks who tend to exaggerate, even when they represent one of the top network marketing companies.

For instance, I am sure you may have heard that network marketing was developed as a research paper at Hah-vahd University. Truth is, I can find nothing but urban legend and repeated stories indicating that it was. If so, Harvard apparently has no knowledge of it.

I heard the story when I was starting out and accepted it at face value. Why? Why not? Why would anyone lie about such a thing? Point is, he wasn’t lying. He was repeating an urban legend and I accepted it as truth just as he did.

Don’t fall into the trap of using urban legends and such to make your points. It will only hurt you later. If you don’t know a thing to be true, don’t repeat it as though it were.

Your name and your character are ultimately the final determining factor of whether people will become your repeat, lifelong customer or business associate.

Guard it well.

While I will not tell you ‘how’ to choose a company I will give you a list of things to consider.

Things To Consider When Choosing a Network Marketing Company

Here are a few. Hopefully, this list will also create things in your mind unique to your situation, too:

  1. How long has the company been in business?
  2. Does the product line appeal to you, specifically?
  3. Does the starter kit fit within your budget?
  4. Does the monthly autoship fit within your budget?
  5. How much time do you have to devote to your business?

How long has the company been in business?

This is something to look at, but is not a deal breaker by any means.

New companies, companies with fantastic products, come into existence and will come into being on a regular basis. Sadly, many of them will fall by the wayside, too.

The roster for the top network marketing companies is an evolving list.

Great products fall victim to bad or unscrupulous management all the time. This, more than anything else is why you simply must remember that your number one marketing job is marketing You, Inc.

Looking at some old line established companies that have been around a while is always a good idea. Go here to see a list of companies and some in-depth evaluations of them.

You may find some of the companies are no longer around. As I say, that is part of the business.

Does the product line appeal to you, specifically?

If you are a mechanic and love tinkering with cars on the weekend or go to meet ups, you should check out Amsoil. If you like getting or giving make overs, then Mary Kay Cosmetics may be the way for you to go. Health products companies like Melaleuca may appeal to you as well.

Point is, would you use their products or services? Would you tell your mother to use them? If not, do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Does the starter kit fit within your budget?

Generally, a start up kit runs in the neighborhood of $500, more or less.

I know of one that costs $12,000 to get involved with and, knowing the fellows behind it as I do, I am certain it is worth it to the right person. The business I am currently building, while it is actually an affiliate program and not a network marketing opportunity, is free to get your affiliate link and get started.

It matters not how great the opportunity is if you don’t have the capital to get involved.

Also, don’t risk your grocery money to do it.

I know a lot of marketers disagree with me for saying so but if you don’t have $500 in the bank to get started with, you need to learn to save up a little money before you start a business.

I tell you this because I want you to succeed long term, okay?

Does the monthly auto-ship fit within your budget?

Back to budget issues. Let’s say you saved up enough money to get started. Is there room in your monthly budget for the auto-ship? For business cards? For marketing?

Determining who the ‘Top Network Marketing Companies’ are is a pointless exercise if you cannot afford to pay your grocery bill and put shoes on the kids’ feet.

…and yes, I understand this is why you want to start a business but this ‘business’ is going to take time and money to make steady profits and signing up with one of the ‘Top Network Marketing Companies’ is not going to create an overnight miracle that will solve all your problems.

So, if there is no room in your budget you need to work your budget first and then let’s talk.

Work your budget out.

If you never have done a budget, start reading. When you get a couple of hundred dollars free every month in your budget, stick it back for a while and spend some time reading.

How much time do you have to devote to your business?

Ideally, you need to be able to spend a couple of hours a day. Either before you go to work in the morning or after you get home from work at night you need to be able to devote a couple of hours to your business.

EVERY DAY.

No exceptions.

If you are married or have a significant other you will need to have a sit down Constitutional convention so you are on the same page.

If they get bored or need help with the laundry or the kids, they are going to need to handle it until you get done with the business.

Obviously, exceptions occur but this can and does railroad many a business in the early stages.

Your business is your business; your business is not a hobby.

I hope this has been helpful.

What Is Network Marketing?

Definitions: Network Marketing

“What is network marketing?” is a question that is seldom asked these days because everyone thinks they know the answer.

It is very popular with folks who need to generate income on the side. It is helpful that it can be carried out part time according to the schedule an individual wants to set.

Its very popularity sometimes makes it hard to answer the question of “What is network marketing?”

Accurate definitions are not what make it into literary and big screen references. Its negative or caricature representations are often what folks are exposed to.

This is unfortunate because it makes it difficult sometimes for the new entrepreneur to define it for his prospects.

Often, they are too busy thinking about what it is they think they know, rather than hearing the new entrepreneur explain the significant benefits of both his or her products and the opportunity that makes them available.

To sum it up, you enter into an independent contractor relationship with a company to represent their goods and services. For this, you will receive a commission on what you sell personally. You are creating customers for the company. You can also create other representatives for the company for which you will receive an override of their sales as well.

What Is Network Marketing?

Pot-a-to  or Po-tah-to

Some folks are skittish about the act of selling. The idea of being a salesman makes them sweat blood, metaphorically speaking.

Ironically, these same people can go on and on, waxing rapturous in their recommendations that you should eat at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse (worth the price, by the way) or just about talking at the top of their lungs about how you simply must see the latest Star Wars.

…not realizing they are engaging in full blown, Interstate highway speeds selling when they do it.

They are also doing it for free.

You are using this very same process, only you are getting paid to do it.

For this very reason, network marketing is also referred to as ‘referral marketing.’

Referral Marketing

Referral marketing has a nice, warm, pleasant, fuzzy feeling to it that calms the panicky folks who are emotionally allergic to the idea of selling. Basically, you are saying something like this to folks you know, “I use this. I benefited from it. I believe in it. I think you would like it, too. Would you like to try it?”

You can also use the idea that your product or service solves a problem they have.

Obviously, those are not the exact words, but the ideas are correct. You are not selling a used car you are trying to move before it won’t run. You are telling a friend they might like to try something that you benefited from. That in any case, is for direct contact amongst folks you know.

Solving problems for folks usually leads to a life long customer, too.

Online Referral Marketing

Online is a different world. Folks don’t know you and have no reason to trust you or engage in your business. To them, “What is network marketing?” is a question that has been answered.

They need a reason to trust you; they need a reason to think you can help them solve their problems.

This is where attraction marketing comes into play.

Attraction Marketing

Attraction Marketing is a very simple concept although its implementation is sometimes not so simple. Mainly, it requires consistent effort to win the Search Engine Optimization and social media proof cycles.

You provide content that has real value to your readers, listeners or viewers.

By real value, I mean you are teaching them things that will help them in their current business.

Solving problems for folks is what you do. Solving problems for folks gives them a reason to trust you. When they trust you, they will buy from you.

That trust is why networking or referral marketing is so successful. Folks buy from folks they know and trust.

Capitalizing1 on personal relationships to build a business is what you do when you do it in person.

Online, you are using attraction marketing to create those relationships. You do this by providing value in the form of solving problems for them. As you do this and as you communicate with them over time either through chat, emails, newsletters or blogs they begin to actively seek you out.

This leads to sales. Sales lead to freedom.

Tim Singleton

You’ve run out of folks to talk to about your business. What do you do now?

1 This is not to suggest you are being mercenary in your efforts. I am assuming you are choosing to represent quality goods and services that give benefits, value and solve problems for your customers.

If you are representing things in which you do not believe, but are only selling them because of their profit potential, you are going to find yourself in a hard row to hoe.

You cannot do better than taking the sincere position that you want to improve your customers situations and then finding products to represent in which you have absolute confidence and use yourself.

Network Marketing Companies

Network Marketing Companies: Which one?

Network marketing companies. Which one should you work with?

If you are looking for an opportunity you will want to choose a good company with which to work. Nor is it as simple as choosing the one that has been in business the longest or who has the most distributors.

There is something to be said for the excitement caused by innovation, after all.

Which one to work with? Well, that is a good question. Because you are going to invest a lot, and I do mean a lot, of time in trying to build a business.

The odds say you will fail, too.

If that seems abrupt, please, forgive me. I am just not in the business of blowing smoke up your butt.

I want you to succeed and the only way you can do that is with accurate, precise information. Accurate and precise and in that order.

So, back to the issue of which company to work with.

Network Marketing Companies With Whom I Have Worked

As long as you believe in the product and it is at a price point you believe to be reasonable, you will be able to succeed with the product. There are a lot of good companies out there with simply awesome products.

Amway, for instance, has a petroleum based pre-spot treatment that in my opinion simply has no equal for getting cook’s whites spotless, wash after wash.

Melaleuca has a none flouridated toothpaste that makes my mouth feel healthier and cleaner than ever before. Older folks who have troubles with the corners of their mouths will also find the melaleuca oil it contains has a great effect on promoting healing in those spots. I suspect, but cannot confirm, that it is due to the antifungal properties of the oil.

You will notice that I have not talked about the compensation plans yet.

Nor will I.

As I have said in the past and continue to maintain, you should be concerned with representing good products your customers actually need, will use and will feel good about the price paid.

Also, forget about Wally World. You are not competing with Walmart.

You cannot get rich saving 10¢ on a can of hairspray and you cannot get rich by trying to underbid a company that can buy entire years of production from a plant by writing a single check.

Which Company? Does It Matter? What Does Matter?

What matters is you. You are the brand from which your customers are going to buy. Your relationship with them is the key to the sale.

If you take the tack of promoting too heavily the company you work with you are doing everyone involved a disservice. Companies come and go, but, by the grace of Heaven above, the marketing group you build will be around permanently.

What also matters is that you get proper training.

I use this program. It provides a number of benefits that will help you build your business.

Network Marketing

What Is Network Marketing?

Its Essential Nature

To me, network marketing is a strategy in which:

  1. You get paid for sales you make.
  2. You also get paid for the sales of salespeople you recruit.

It really is that simple. Making it more complicated does not change its nature.

The Bad News

  • Most of you won’t make any money.
  • Statistics say less than 3% will get into the money ring.
  • Your family and friends will most likely not be supportive.

The Good News

  • In my opinion, you can be successful by choosing to work harder.
  • Don’t worry about the 97% who fail. Focus on the 100% of you that is going to win.
  • You don’t need your family and friends to succeed. If fact, I am telling you not to call on them.
  • If you have been working hard and have little to show for it, don’t worry. It is almost certainly not your fault.

Many Advantages to Networking

For some, a vacation involves deciding where to go, what to do, when to do it, who to do it with, how to pay for it all and when do you have to leave it all to come back to the job you are so keen to get away from for a week, maybe two.

I don’t know about you, but the previous paragraph looks more like a business plan with a to do list than a vacation. For me, a vacation involves sleeping until 10AM or later and maximum pajama time.

Which brings us to the advantages of networking and affiliate marketing in particular and online marketing in general.

  1. Who you work with is up to you.
  2. When you work is up to you.
  3. What product or service line you represent is up to you.
  4. Why you are building a business is up to you.
  5. How do you get to where you want to go? Keep reading.

Who You Work With

Unlike family and those you work with on the job, you get to pick who you work with in your business. This means you get to work with like minded folks who want the same things out of life you want.

When you attend functions and training you are not at work with your ‘associates.’

You are hanging out with friends.

You are strengthening that friendship and adding more bricks to the foundation of your wealth.

As far as family and co-workers go, leave them for last if at all. Why? You are going to have enough negative energy pointed in your direction without any coming from someone who knows your hot buttons.

Let’s get you to a place where when you to talk to Cousin Financial Genius or Uncle Economic Ph.D. on a GED you are doing so with with a five figure monthly commission check in hand.

When You Work

Your schedule is almost entirely up to you, particularly if you are like me and building your business 100% online.

Preferably, I get up early early and get my work for the day done.  Some days I just don’t feel like early early and so I might do a late night with Tim.

You are in the drive seat and you decide.

What Do I Sell?

Whatever you like.

Whatever you are interested in.

I chose the product line I am selling because I can think of no more honest a product line to represent.

I like it. I like having a drawer full of it

My point is, I am a 270lbs. country boy who wears a flat top. I am going to take a controversial stand and say Mary Kay cosmetics would not be a good fit for me.

Sell things you like, use and believe in.

The ‘Why’ of Your Business

What moves you?

What are the reasons for building your business? Only you can answer that but while you are answering that question of yourself, frame it like this:

What are my reasons that will move me to work when I am sick and when my faith seems to have fled?

Answering this now will help you minimize wasted days.

My why? I have a long litany of things on my bucket list. There are many, many things on my list of things I love to do.

No where, not once, is ‘get up before the sun rises to go somewhere to be told what to do all day by someone else’ listed as one of my favorite things in life.

My personal breakthrough moment occurred when I realized I was terrified of going to the mailbox, terrified of what was going to go wrong next.

I knew the stress of that was going to kill me as a young man and I had too much to live for.

How Do You Get To Where You Want To Go? Network Marketing

Years ago I was given to understand there were 4 main ways for an American to become a millionaire. It broke down something like this.

  1. Microsoft. Being one of the original employees of Microsoft was a golden ticket. Employees buying shares in their company has created something like 3,300 millionaires.
  2. Network Marketing. The number of millionaires created by network was somewhere north of 1,700 when I saw the list. It would not surprise me to find that our field has surpassed Microsoft by now.
  3. Pharmaceutical sales. Jokes aside, being a big pharma rep has created a lot of wealthy people.
  4. Own a dry cleaning business. Yep, not sexy at all but the dry cleaning  business, if it suits your temperament, is a solid path to wealth.

Networking is the only business on this list that anyone can choose to pursue. The others have barriers to them such as the ship having passed for Microsoft to the high start up costs of starting a dry cleaning business.

Reasons your choice to pursue network marketing is a good choice:

  • Low start up costs.
  • You can work part time or in your spare time.
  • Network marketing training develops your leadership abilities as few things do.
  • Our business model, as networking professionals, is a proven system with a track record of producing millionaires as well as million dollar+ annual incomes.

Franchising and Network Marketing

I would rather earn 1% off a 100 people’s efforts than 100% of my own efforts.
-John D. Rockefeller

Franchising is a known, effective business model that has created a lot of wealthy men and women.

You create a successful business model with proven profits.

Then, for a percentage you show others how to do the same thing. This is essentially what you are doing. You have bought a franchise and are in the business of creating multiple outlets.

Network Marketing Training Tools: Choices

Network Marketing Training Tools: The Difference Between Success and Failure

You are looking for training on how to succeed as an affiliate or network marketer; you are looking for network marketing training tools. Were that not the case, you would not be here.

There are tons of sites that offer training.

Ask yourself this question:

How many winners has their training produced?

Spending money on losers is part of the game. It is how you learn. As that old Taoist saying goes, “Failure is the foundation of success, and the means by which it is obtained.”

If one plan doesn’t work, change the plan. Don’t change the goal. A little research can cut down on the number of blind alleys you have to run.

That is question number 1. Here is number 2:

How many of those winners are still winning?

The issue is longevity. Anyone can go out and do a flash in the plan sales push and make a few bucks. Is the business you build going to last? Is it a fad? Is it built on repeat customers?

Is the training you are considering going to teaching you these things?

The winners with long term success are a good indicator.

Question number 3:

Are people using this training to succeed in other companies or is this company just good at selling its own products? If you cannot tell, ask for references!

Anyone can claim anything.  Names and track records prove the points.

To sum up, here are the three questions I want you to ask yourself:

  1. How many winners has their network marketing training tools produced?
  2. How many of those winners are still winning? (longevity)
  3. Are people using those toolsets successfully in other businesses? Is it applicable to your business?

In getting ready to write this blog one of the things I researched was the search string ‘top ten most popular blogs.’ Two of them I am recommending you look at the site and the content as they seemed relevant even to us in the home based business training space.

The first one is Smashing Magazine, a blog devoted to web design.

A company proves that it has a strong creative process by developing successful products repeatedly. We see this in companies like Apple, BMW and Google. Founders such as Steve Jobs formed a corporate culture with an intense focus on creativity and design. This culture highlights two core elements in the creative process: the ideas and the team.

The second one is Copy Blogger. Here is a relevant quote for all bloggers.

When trying to rank well for the one or two topics that your entire site is built around, creating flagship content is your best bet. Whether it’s a tutorial about search engine optimization basics, blogging for beginners, or copywriting, a frequently asked questions page, or an inspirational mission statement, this content serves a vital function in creating a relevant, compelling, and useful cornerstone to build a site around.

Network Marketing Training Installment # 3

Network Marketing Training # 3 is the last installment of my notes from this Wednesday’s free training. If you learned anything or found anything useful, please, comment and share.

Network Marketing Training

Attraction Marketing: Perfect Person Attraction Formula

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Who do you want to attract?
  • What problems do they face?

Obviously, you are looking for network marketers. Your job is to help them learn to generate leads. When you take a course or participate in training such as we received Wednesday, share what you learned with others through blogs and interaction.

Which brings up another of my favorite things in this business.

Invest, Learn, Teach

In order for people to follow you, you need to be worth following. This means you have to do the work of actually becoming a person who can provide that for which the average network marketer is looking.

This means you decide right now to the kind of person who will:

  1. Invest time and money in network marketing training courses and education aimed at your business.
  2. Learn the skills and knowledge those course are trying to teach you. You know folks who will buy courses and then never even read the books included. Why do they do that?
  3. Teach. Teach your readers and your distributors what you have learned from the courses you are investing in.

This Invest, Learn, Teach approach allows you to become a content creator and makes you worth following because you will share your notes with your readers and distributors.

Your Network Marketing Company Is A Classified State Secret

Tell no one.

Posting your MLM company’s name on social media hurts you in two ways.

  • People go to social media not to be sold stuff, but for information. There are ways to do it but stuffing your timeline with why they should buy your products and services is not one of them.
  • What is the first thing they are going to do when they see the name of your opportunity provider?  They are going to Google it, read all the naysayers about your opportunity and 99.9% of the time simply pass.

Provide value by solving problems for them. Sooner or later they are going to be curious as to what your core business is. When they ask you are providing information; you are not selling them.

By not ringing the bell about your opportunity and letting them come to you, you control the situation and can give them good information.

Make It Rain!

Ray outlined 2 steps he took to reach $100,000 in MLSP in 12 months.

  1. Each lead that did not join his MLM was asked, “How are you doing with generating leads online?”
  2. He put this P.S. line on his blog posts, “This online system helps me generate leads. Click here unless you have too many leads.”

Thanks for that, Ray.

Network Marketing Training # 2

Network Marketing Training-When to Pitch?

Network marketing training #2

A couple of up fronts on the issue of when, where and to whom to pitch your business opportunity.

First, understand that the average person wants to be an employee. For me, employment…blessing that it is, can be defined as modern day indentured servitude with the exception that you can choose to switch masters (bosses) any time you like. My reasoning on that is too long for a blog post. Perhaps I will attempt it another day, though.

Anyways…

Step back from the issue of when to pitch your opportunity for a moment. If you are in a situation where you’re not getting the results you want you need to ask yourself whether you are working hard and often enough or if you are possibly pitching too hard and too often.

Too Eager, Too Often

Slowdown and take a beat and remember what you are trying to do, what your mission is.

Remember that the people to whom you are pitching don’t care.

Quit pitching to your family and friends and start creating educational content that is actually helpful. Creating that content will help you create leads, giving you the opportunity to develop a relationship with that lead so that you can determine what that person’s needs are and place yourself in a position to supply a solution to that need.

To summarize:

  1. Slow down. Quit doing busy work and remember to focus on solving problems, educating others, providing value.
  2. Generate a lead.
  3. Connect with that lead.
  4. Determine the need.

Sometimes the need is not your opportunity, whatever it might be. Sometimes something in your product line is exactly what they need. Sometimes they need to be your customer, not in your business.

Customers Rock

There have been some MLM companies who have gotten themselves into a bit of hot water; sadly it happens. Their solution and one that should have been emphasized in the network marketing training provided is the need for customers.

Then again, what passes for network marketing training in many companies is throw them all at the wall and see who sticks.

The products you sell should be able to stand on their own merit and not just as part of a business opportunity.

If you have scorched what is commonly called your warm market, try focusing on product sales rather than just recruitment into the opportunity. Customers rock, they pay retail and generate profits to keep you eating and are monster good sources of referrals for both new customers and distributors for you business.

In order to do this you are going to have to actually know your customer and find out what they need.

Focus on their need, not your quota.

  • Customers buy, putting profits in your pocket.
  • Customers, happy customers, are sources of repeat profits and referrals when you ask for them.
  • Customers tell others about you.  ← This is marketing at its best.
  • Customers rock.

I hope this second installment of what was taught in Wednesday’s free training seminar.

You can sign up to attend here. Remember, it is free and business neutral.
